iFrame background color without using "allowTransparency"

Howdy,

I would like to set the background color of an iFrame. I cannot use (and
haven't gotten it to work) allowTransparency. Is there a way? I would like to
use iFrames so that I can use jscript to change the contents (pictures).

All suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
