Inheriting from dropdownlist

Hi
I need a editable dropdownlist where user can change its contents like
a textbox. But is it possible to do create a control which inherits from
dropdownlist and changes this particular property of dropdownlist? There
are other free controls available on net which emulate this by using combobox
and textbox but I would rather build control using the dropdownlist if this
can be acheived.
