Interaction between user controls

Hi,

I have a couple user controls on my page. One of them is sort of menu and
when i click on it i would like to change "content" in other user controls
as well.
What is the best approach? How should the object model look like?
Whatever I tried almost all my code was placed in OnPreRender, because only
this event was fired after OnClik Event in menu user control. I'm not sure
if that is right, because in every book databinding is usualy done in
PagaLoad event and i am databinding in OnPreRender...
