Is it possible to link LIB files using a GNU g++ compiler/linker(e.g. mingw)?

Hi,

I have been using the interl IPP lib for some time on a microsoft
compiler. Now i was wondering if I can switch to a gnu based compiler
and still use the IPP. IPP uses .lib files where as GNU uses .a as
library files (i think). Is it possible to use these .lib files on a
GNU g++ compiler at all?

Usage of compilers and linkers is off-topic, you should try a group
discussing gcc, such as gnu.gcc.help.
