JavaScript-based Interactive Listing

J

jjq

I've put together a PDF document that shows how it is possible to use
JavaScript to deliver an interactive listing in a typeset paper by
manipulating widget annotations, see:

http://www.amrita-ebook.org/doc/technote/nested-widgets

I would be interested to hear whether or not people find its
reponse time acceptable. This particular listing has 2040 widgets
on a page, which is way more than Adobe had in mind when
they provided support for /Annots, hence this request.

If you would like to respond, please send me information
along these lines:

machine: IBM T42, 1.6GHz Pentium M
OS: Suse 9.1
viewer: acroread 7.0.1
response time: 6/10
general usability: 5/10

Thanks,

James Quirk
