JDO , JDBC ? ?

Hi
Some database, such as borland jdatastore, it can direct store your
java object into database. Will this destroy JDO?

My company is developing a java app, it need to store a huge data,
and retrieve it as fast as possible. The data must be encrypted too. I
want to synchorize all ojects into file system. But it is hard to
retrieve it. because i don't have a sql "select" statement.

Does JDO support good retrieve method? like sql select statement?

Yes. You can enlarge your search with non standard JDO tools. JDO is
considered as a non mature spec by "some" people.
