I'm doing some tests to see if it's feasible to use Java for a video
application. I want to be able to embed a window in my app that plays
Indeo 5.1 encoded videa. I using Sun's JMStudio app for my tests.
The video plays back fine if the video window is relatively small but
gets very jittery as I increase the window size. The same video plays
back fine when using Windows Media Player, even when the video window
size is increased (no noticeable degradation in performance). Is
there any way to improve the performance of the Java playback? Also,
is there any code available that wraps the Windows Media Player
Control (ActiveX) so that it could be used in place of Java's "native"
video playback support?
Many thanks.
