Back in 96 I put a web site together in about an hour using word and
netscape that received all kinds of compliments from people that did
web sites for a living..
People who create web sites for a living means that they are successful
in selling their work to other people. It says nothing about their
design or coding skills.
Regarding coding it's generally the opposite. The more highly skilled a
coder is the more difficult it is to find employment or to sell their
produce.
Quite a few of the best coders are amateurs, quite a few of the most
highly paid professionals are dreadful coders.
