Key generation algorithm and Cipher algorithm

Discussion in 'Java' started by Ahmed Moustafa, Nov 15, 2003.

  1. Hi All,

What is the relation between the algorithm that is used to create the
public/private key pair and the algorithm that is used to initialize the
cipher? Do the two algorithms have to be the same?

Does it make sense to create RSA key pair and use a TripleDES cipher?

    Thanks in advance.

    Ahmed
