ldap search result size..

Hello,

Is there a way to retrieve the size of a resulting ldap search without
enumerating through the entire result? It seems to me as though there
should be a way, but I have had no luck finding anything useful.

fyi, I am currently using JNDI to make the search and extracting
results from a NamingEnumeration.
