Login Control not using skin defaults?

I'm fairly new to asp.net so this may be a stupid question...

I've dropped the Login Control onto my login form but it doesn't use the
button font/color etc set in my skin. Buttons on other pages work correctly.
Is there a way of overridding the login button font/color via the skin? I
don't want to hard code these as I want it to be fully customisable via the
skin or css.
