looking for xhtml complient scrolling news script.

www.sicl.co.uk uses a propretory scrolling news javascript. id like one that
actually works with XHTML code to degrade (display the news) when you turn
off css and javascript anyone know of a good example?

Do you really mean an XHTML compliant script? It would be unusual for
anyone to have a requirement for a script that cannot work on any
existing IE browsers.

the site mentioned is xhtml cpomplient and works in ie (not v5 on a mac)

IE is incapable of building a scriptable XHTML DOM from any type of page
source. What you will find is that the DOM being scripted is an HTML DOM
and the source being sent is being sent with the content-type text/html
and is Appendix C compatibility mark-up (HTML with XHTML-like
correctable syntax errors), with which all browsers build an HTML DOM
not an XHTML DOM. So you actually want an HTML DOM compliant script
because it will be an HTML DOM that is being scripted.

The probability is that the error-filled HTML mark-up of Appendix C
XHTML will have no significant impact on the script used (beyond slowing
page loading and HTML parsing as the browser error-corrects the
mark-up).

anyone know of a dhtml scrolling news system similar to the one on
www.sicl.co.uk that allows the 'news items' to be displayed inline with the
markup when javascript and css is turned off (or is read out by a text to
speach browser)
