Multiple Sources for custom Membership and Role Providers

I need to write a custom provider to replace the SqlMembershipProvider
and the SqlRoleProvider, my application will have two sources. One is
from an SQL server and one is from a WebService. Does anyone have any
experience of developing providers with multiple sources. Any pointers
would be greatly appreciated.
