Multiple Versions of Python on Windows XP

SciTE doesn't do that, in the default configuration it just uses
whatever is called "pythonw" on the path, for running files having a .py
or .pyw suffix.

I see. By default, Python does not put itself onto PATH. Does that mean
that SciTE cannot run Python scripts in the default installation?

I think so. I just verified it by downloading the actual single file
sc177.exe version of SciTE. It just does nothing, when doing a "go", as
long as there isn't a pythonw.exe available via the path environment
variable.

Personally, I habitually put python on the path, on most systems I use.
