Need to add C flag when building a CPAN module

In building the Tk module in my home
directory, I need to add a flag to
the list of C compiler flags that is
written in each of the many Makefiles
that are generated when I execute
"perl Makefile.PL" The C flags are
set in the Config module, which is
part of the Perl installation. How
can I override this?
