NetBeans IDE - 'For Better or For Worse'

I am a brand-spanking new Java programmer still only halfway through Java in
21 days... As an IDE, I have selected NetBeans 3.6. Is there any reasons
why this possibly isn't the best IDE for me to be using right now? Thanks,

v/Respectfully,

If you are finding it overwhelming, there are simpler ones for
beginners. If you are used to IDEs like that for other languages, you
may feel right at home.

See http://mindprod.com/jgloss/ide.html for alternatives.
