new small xml parser Open Source

Discussion in 'XML' started by Roberto Nunnari, Feb 2, 2004.

  1. Hi all.

I announce that there's a brand new XML parser
in the Open Source arena: NunniMJAX - release 1.0

    http://nunnimjax.nunnisoft.ch

NunniMJAX is a Java, non validating XML parser. Its APIs and
functioning are very similar to SAX. That means that if you're
familiar with SAX it will be straitforward to start using it.

NunniMJAX has been built using an Open Source FSM (Finite
State Machine) generator, namely NunniFSMGen, available at
    nunnifsmgen.nunnisoft.ch

NunniMJAX is not and will never be a competitor of xerces nor
crimson. In fact, the aim of NunniMJAX is to be a lightweight
(at present less than 30KB), fast and reliable XML parser to be
used in environment with limited resources (applets, mobiles,
etc..). NunniMJAX don't do validation.. but it strives to
verify that the document is well-formed.

As up to now it has been the effort of just one person, and
is still very young.. it surely still has bugs... but the
testcases up to now show that overall it behaves quite well.

Contributions, patches, bug reports or just success stories
    are welcome

    Best regards.
