Newbie needs help to create Apache Velocity's "hello world"

Hello All !
Please, could somebody help me with Apache Velocity technology.

I need to create at least simple "hello world" project.
I have read a documentation here: http://velocity.apache.org/engine/devel/developer-guide.html
but still cannot understand, how my template should look like, where
located, what is the minimum required java code etc.

Can anybody provide me with a simple sample usage of Apache Velocity?
Simple Java code, simple template and simple instructions - how to run
it all?
