noobie question regarding installing a package

HI, I'm trying to install NumPy and the instructions say:

python setup.py install


When I try that it says, unhelpfully:


"This is the wrong setup.py"



So what does this mean, and what is the right setup.py?

So what version of Python do you have installed, and what is the
full name of the NumPy installer you have.

My guess would be that you may have, say, Python2.5, but have a
NumPy installer created for Python2.4...
