The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.

Is there anyone, anywhere, stupid enough to install
"security software" obtained from a known pirate?

(That's supposed to be a rhetorical question, but I
fear the literal answer might be Yes. As H.L. Mencken said,
"No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of
the American public," and I think his observation survives
generalization to the global economy.)
