ODI's and Sehwag....is there some problem

A

amparikh

with his approach.Last year also, he started out pretty scratchily and
that was the reason India was performing so bad.

This year also hasnt started well for him though, I think he has been
unlucky this time with the way he got out today as compared to last
year where he wasnt even able to get bat on ball.
Manjrekar was commenting on why for a strike maker like him, Sri Lanka
isnt the idle place but isnt he forgetting that it was the 2001 tri
series and later 2002 Champions trophy, both in Sri Lanka that saw his
rise to stardom.
But for more than 2 years now, starting with the TVS cup in
India(Ind-Aus-NZ), where he was terrorized by Nathan Bracken and then
last year starting with the Asia cap and Natwest series and Champions
trophy( and tension between him and Ganguly) and now this year, somehow
Sehwag definitely has issues in the ODI approach.
and the problem with this is, whether it is John Wright or Greg
Chappell, there is nothing they can do about it. Its just that, he has
to get it right.

Last year, people started comparing him with Micheal Slater because of
the difference in the tests and ODI success, but Micheal Slater wasnt
even a half-decent batsman in ODI's. But, the syndrome is evident, only
the degree of success level at a higher level.
