onblur event

I'm having a little bit of trouble w/ this:

Whenever I click on the webpage itself, this event fires. I understood it
to be if this page lost focus, but it seems just the opposite.

I'd send code, but it's very buried under other code (not my "spaghetti
code"). Does anyone have any comments?
