OT: Helpdesk/Asset-tracking applications

Are there any recommended free/cheap Helpdesk/Asset-tracking applications
out there? I'm obviously think ASP/SQL, but I'm not discounting other
solutions (eg. PHP/MySQL etc).

I'm obviously checking through all the usual sources (ASPIN.net, 4Guys,
15Seconds etc), but I'm looking for recommendations from the floor really.

We only want a simple system:
- Record details on equipment
- Record & track user-problems (ideally with the option to link a problem to
a piece of kit)
