[OT] Sun Certifications for Java 2 ??

hello all.

this questions has nothing to do with the java language. however, i feel
this forum is the best sample for my question.

for those that have obtained a certification from sun for the java 2
platform, do you believe that it has helped you find a job or helped you
advance in your current job?

for those that do not have the certification, what are your
perceptions/thoughts regarding this certification?
