Please explain the difference

Hi all,

I am new to asp.net so am still trying to make sense of it all while
developing an application for a non-proft organisation.

Here is my first question:

Data can be displayed by two methods,

either like this,
<ItemTemplate>
<%#Container.DataItem("court_name")%> </ItemTemplate>

or like this,
<asp:BoundColumn DataField="last_name" HeaderText="Last
Name"></asp:BoundColumn>

What is the diffence in capabilities of each approach?
