hey guys.

just wondering if with the explosion of popup blockers if you have stopped
using legitimate popups?

for instance if you have a "send this page to a friend" feature. I prefer to
use a popup as to not take the user away from the content they are reading.

thanks

Don't force your preference onto others.

You think people will want to fill the form in and read the article at the
same time? What's wrong with just returning the user to the article when
they submit the form?

Most blockers have a feature that gives the user a choice to unblock a site.
I have to use this feature for my online banking. I'm sure people are
generally smart enough to use it.

Just make sure you announce the popup. This is also helpful for people using
adapted browsers. (adapted to disability/technology).

That is a mighty big stretch. I would agree to "most people SHOULD be
smart enough to use them". But the fact that IE is the leading browser
proves they arn't.
