Problem surfacing after installation of Fremwork 1.1 Service Pack 1

This problem started happening on our application (Web based, C#,
Asp.Net) after installaing Service pack 1 of the Framework v1.1

After approxiamtely a minute of session user would lose session and get
redirected to the login page (using forms authenication)

After much tinkering, discovered that by shutting off the windows
service that was part of the application (this product was a port from
Java, and the windows service replaced a daemon that would fire events,
send e-mails etc)

Interestingly enough, the timer is set to 60000 ticks, or about a
minute....

Any help would be appreciated
