The following things may be of interest to the group:

    1. A public domain (genuine PD, explicit noitice) C runtime library,
    for DOS, Win32, OS/2, MVS (24-bit and 31-bit), OS/390, z/OS, VM/CMS.

    http://pdos.sourceforge.net

    2. A public domain operating system for the x86 and x386, also from
    the above link.

    3. A port of GCC 3.2.3 to the IBM mainframe (MVS and VM), available
    from:

    http://gccmvs.sourceforge.net

    (follow the sourceforge link).

    BFN. Paul.
