Rails in Fink

B

Benjamin Reed

I went to OSCON this week, and after all the great stuff on RoR I just
*had* to play with it more than the little I'd tried when 1.0 came
out. I was surprised to see it still wasn't in Fink, so I went ahead
and packaged rails, all of it's dependencies that were missing, and a
few extra things I wanted/needed to make things work, and to play with
(ruby-sqlite3, streamlined, ferret).

You'll need to enable unstable, selfupdate-rsync (or selfupdate-cvs)
and then do a "fink install rails-rb18." I'm finally able to blow
away my hand-installed gems in /opt. :)

If you notice any problems or things I'm missing (or handy things that
you'd like packaged; it's dead easy to package up gems) please let me
know.
