    GCC.

    I use a Win32 build - WinAVR - and program the STK500 using the free AVR
    Studio from Atmel. See http://www.avrfreaks.net for a linux version.
    Also see http://www.freertos.org/a00098.html for a sample STK500 program
    that builds with GCC.
