    Someone has probably made a macro called 'distance', perhaps OS X.

    Try to include this file before anything else in your program.

    Try to #define distance first in your program to see if you get a
    warning where it is redeclared.

    Try to #undef distance before you include this file.

    BTW. please use a proper Subject: related to your problem.
