Regarding transforming Control Flow Graph

Dear Reader,

I am doing a project here i have to change the control flow graph of a
JAVA program so that it has only subset of original paths in the
program. This is done by removing certain blocks in the programs code.
So i would take proggrams CFG and change it by removing links to the
pruned blocks.

What would be the criterion which, the transformations should ensure?
