screen shot

Hi,
I have created a ticket system where users can submit their problem.
After several month of experience it appears that offering a zone to paste a
screen shot will be ideal.
Is there anyway to acheive this without pasting to a word doc, and upload
it?
Thanks for your help.

I'm confused. What does this have to do with PHP?

No. Screenshots are limited to word documents only. Unlike any other images
in the computer world, screenshots work only in Microsoft Word.

Okay, seriously now... There are n+1 perfectly good programs for such
purpouse. And if you have your own favourite tool for working with images,
like Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop, you can use them too, just take the shot
with Alt+PrScr and paste it in the photo editor. There is no reason at all
to use Word for screenshots, in fact you'll only get non-portable, unpacked
document which might even contain macro viruses. In other words word is the
worst possible choice for screenshots you could ever imagine. Use a tool for
taking a plain image, save it as jpg and upload that for heavens sake.

To get you started, Google is your friend and ready to assist you:

I use IrfanView32 (http://www.irfanview.com/) for this purpose - it's
small, quick and free.

1. Alt+PrintScreen
2. Open IrfanView
3. Paste
4. Save image
5. upload via web form

For Mac users, they can just use the Shift+Command+3 key combo to
automatically save an image or pdf to their desktop to upload in the form

No, dude! I use WinAmp to do screenshots. I can also make programs with
PartitionMagic, and I do most of my graphical design works with winzip.

Obviously, Kimmo didn't think about powerpoint :p

Repeat with me: "paintbrush". Oh, micro$oft renamed that to "paint" at some
point. Anyway, it's the poorsman tool to edit image files. So tell your
users to use it to send you screenshots.

The relevance of this regarding PHP is zero, unless you are planning to
distribute a PHP application to your users that creates the screenshot.

The relevance of this regarding ECMAScript implementations is not zero
because there is a Firefox extension for it, written in JavaScript 1.5,
to use XPConnect (XPCOM in JavaScript; formerly LiveConnect)[1] for
accessing Java classes (see below). Or because you are planning to
distribute a J(ava)Script-based application to your users, probably
as XUL or HTA.

Users can send you the screenshot in an e-mail, using their
e-mail client, or their service provider's Web interface.
