sending email silently

Let me say I currently know very little htlm.but learning.I'm making
changes to my web,created with a "no html knowledge needed"
package.Yeah right!. Anyways a vistor can download a file,no problem
there.I would like them to HAVE to fill out name and email for follow
up purposes.I have sort of figured how to do the email but all it does
is add it to the default email prog in the out box.Could some one show
some code,or point me to some, where the email is validated and sent
DIRECTLY to my mailbox. without any more input from my visitor, and the
download option box is displayed when to file download button is
clicked.
