Setting path for file saved from IE. How to activate "SaveAs" dialog box?

Discussion in 'Javascript' started by Martin Mrazek, May 18, 2004.

  1. Hi,
I use ActiveXObjects to save file from IE on the client's disc. So far
I used the fixed path and file name, something like c:\savedFile.txt

I need to activate some SaveAs dialog box from IE to let the user
choose where he or she wants to save the file and how to name it.

I assume some other ActiveX object does it. Can you send a sample code
for it, please? And wich object activates the Open dialog box?

    thanks
    Martin
