Sharing code for a variant style type

    I'm not sure, but specialisazion of templates within a class is AFAIK
    not possible in standard C++, but an extension of MSVC7, if I'm wrong
    please tell me.

    I didn't know that. What an arbitrary restriction! Boy do I ever hate C++.
