Something has stolen Ctrl + Spacebar

Bookham Measures

Hello

As above, my Ctrl + Spacebar for intellisense is not working in VI 6.0.

I have checked keyboard assignments and Ctrl + Space is listed for Edit ->
CompleteWord.

I added Ctrl + Shift + Space and that does work, but Ctrl + Space does not.

I removed Ctrl + Space thinking re-adding it might help, but now the
Options - Keyboard dialog does not even detect Ctrl + Space when I press it.

Some other App must have taken that Keyboard assignment. Is there any way I
can find out who/what and possibly re-assign it to VI?

I am on a freshly installed PC with XP Pro SP2 and Visual Studio 6 SP6.

Thanks in advance.

Servers have no need for a spacebar, so I suspect this is the wrong NG.

Thanks, I don't think. You think I am not aware of which newsgroup I am
posting to? In the absence of a VI newsgroup I am posting here, knowing
that a lot of ASP coders will be using Visual Interdev.

I trust people are as helpful to you when Classic ASP newsgroups are
discontinued and removed like the VI ones have been.

If you haven't got anything useful to say, say nothing. Works in all walks
of life.

I am sorry to hear that.

Yes, I was thinking that. It happens to me occasionally.

You did not tell that in your OQ.
If you haven't got anything useful to say, say nothing.

Oh, so you confess you are using the wrong NG
and do that for a purpose [that does not convince me, btw],
and you do not want to be reminded?

You seem to be the expert.

I still see the vi groups. Why do you think they've been removed?

Please reply to the newsgroup. The email account listed in my From

I don't see any Interdev NGs in US/English (using OE). Have found some
Visual Studio ones, will post there, although expect to be berated for
posting about an old version much like the ASP.NET guys get treated in here.

I genuinely thought most people here would be ASP coders, coding classic ASP
with probably Classic ASP tools such as VI 6. Wish I hadn't bothered,
didn't realise I'd be the subject of such comments.

I am confused by the need to reply that those unhelpful posters have
inferred.

microsoft.public.vi.general as well as others. You don't see them? Try
refreshing your newsgroup list. If you still don't see them, it probably
means you are using a news server that does not propogate those groups.
Create a new account pointing at msnews.microsoft.com.

What comments? I think you're being way too sensitive. You cannot infer
a tone of voice or facial expression from reading an email. Why are you
assuming a malicious intent?

Ummm - I was trying to be helpful - pointing out that the groups were
still there may have prompted you to take another look allowing you to
find them this time. You are being way too sensitive.

I have to agree with Bookhan here, trouble with VI6 is related to ASP as it
would in my view be the number one editor for ASP developers
Aaron's aspfaq.com for example offers may articles on VI6
http://aspfaq.com/search.asp?q=Visual+InterDev+&type=ALL&category=0&numDays=0&order=1looking at microsoft.public.vi.general I can se at the moment 9 threads and11 post in total. So answer his question.

You're wrong there.
Aaron's aspfaq.com for example offers may articles on VI6
http://aspfaq.com/search.asp?q=Visual+InterDev+&type=ALL&category=0&numDays=0&order=1looking

Why is that relevant?
at microsoft.public.vi.general I can se at the moment 9 threads and11
post in total. Hardly a hive of activity>>

Which pretty much refutes your earlier statement about "number one
editor", doesn't it?

PS. If I had known the answer I would have given it in addition to
pointing out the correct newsgroup.

You're wrong there.

I said in my view

it is relevant because it shows that others see it as related

Which pretty much refutes your earlier statement about "number one
editor", doesn't it?

no it doesn't at all. not a logical observation

could be because the editor is so good not many need help with it
PS. If I had known the answer I would have given it in addition to
pointing out the correct newsgroup.

good to hear

If anyone else experiences this problem it might be down to Logitech
QuickCam software. Exit the tray program and all should be ok again.
