Well, as incredible as it sounds actually they do.

[snip teddy bears. awwww :)]

Also, the guidelines tell you how to explain the thoughts in your head
by telling you how to do so in a way that *we* will more readily
understand. It's all well and good for your thoughts to flow however you
prefer them when you're working in a vaccuum, but when communicating,
you need to actually work at communicating.

Neil, I was with you up to the part about communicating and
"thoughts flow". The pro's don't write nor collaborate with
anybody for 99.99% of the work. To do so will let others
steal your ideas and make millions of dollars that should
rightfully go to you the inventor. "Collaboration" is a
sophmoric ramble parroted by you from your freshman teachers
who can't get a job at $20 an hour, nor had a new idea in 20 years.

Leaving aside for the moment the top posting and the fact that my name
isn't neil, you clearly spend your time with much less pleasant people
than I do, as your comments have no relation to the reality I live in.

And what the heck is this about "freshman teachers"?

Adolescent rats exposed to KOST 103 in particular developed tumors on
their noses, and the tumors had little devil heads on them, and the
devil heads were eating little babies, and the babies were screaming.

He's trying to establish himself as a troll. Apparently we're all still in
school, and he's going to school on our asses. Or some crap like that...

Just once I'd like to see an imaginative troll. All we get are one-trick
ponies like PurlGurl and Xah Lee and hormone-filled kids like this fellow
and fred...

I choose not to see them. The same with soporific threads like 'MS
Hatred FAQ' and such. I just wish everybody would.
Kill me unless you mind to read me. ;)

TOP/MIDDLE/BOTTOM posting allowed !!!!

The answer is 1 out of 9 actually helped Neil, with 7 trolls
on record posting on thier laptops between classes when they
change rooms. Posting the most rediculous, narcesistic crap
I've ever read. Trying to learn this boy how to think!
Now seems I'm under attact for taking issue in what is a
Perl question so basic it occured to me someone was
out of class and not too bright for being so.
/me runs around flapping his hands \o/ -o- \o/

well ive got the it working (copy, paste & little typo correction)

robic: i really dont know how to thankyou dude, never managed to get so
much help before (the work done for me) still dont fully understand
whats going on but it works :)

most people just give you one line of code then tell you to read the
f-ing manual (from experiance)

all i need todo now is add alot of error checking, tidy up, make its
work with multi data files.

then im gonna turn use strict on and break it :p

Thankyou very much robic you help has been greatly appriciated.
