Sporadic "Unable to validate data" and "Invalid length for a Base-

Our ASP.NET (VB) is generating sporadic "Unable to validate data" and
"Invalid length for a Base-64 char array" errors.

The production environment is two Windows 2000 Advanced Servers in a web
farm. The <machinekey> web.config element has its validationKey (128 char
hex) and decryptionKey attributes set. They are identical on both web
servers.

I believe the error is related to the viewstate due to similar postings on
the Net. However, none have offered concrete solutions.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
