Job description: Our client in Washington DC is looking for a Sr. Java
Programmer
Primary Responsibilities of Job:
The Sr. Java Developer will provide software design and development,
architecture, support, and enhancements to complex Java-based software
used by the Client, including EJB and JSP components as well as web
services. Some of these applications interface with the Client*s
commercial off-the-shelf customer relationship management, ticketing,
fundraising, and gift shop systems. This includes providing business
process analysis, architecture, custom web software development (JSP,
JavaScript, Java, J2EE, EJB, JDBC, web services, etc), technical
mentoring, and production system support, including weekend and off-
hours support.
For production support, this person will be responsible for support,
maintenance, and enhancements to the existing system running and
utilizing WebLogic server, JRun server, MS SQL Server 2005, web
services, XML, J2EE, JSP, and . This person will also work with the
integration of Java web applications with the ColdFusion MX based web
site and Flash or Flex front-ends. WebLogic and JRun Server system
configuration and administration is a key aspect of the position.
Secondary Responsibilities of Job:
The Sr. Java Developer will be responsible for the maintenance of
technical documentation as well as written reporting. The position
will participate in an after-hours on-call rotation for emergency
support.
Minimum Requirements:
Candidate should possess 7+ years of total IT lifecycle experience
with 3+ years senior-level, hands-on full lifecycle java development
with EJB and web service creation in a Java environment. Candidate
should have experience creating and maintaining stored procedures in
Microsoft SQL Server. Candidate should also possess experience with
WebLogic or JRun server administration, web services (including
experience with XML), and web authoring (JSP, HTML, JavaScript).
Knowledge of ColdFusion MX , Struts, Ant, Flex/Action Script, and/or
Visual Basic is considered a plus. The candidate must be available
after hours as part of an emergency support pager on-call rotation,
and occasionally available nights and weekends to perform upgrades and
other work.
Skill Level:
In addition to technical knowledge identified above, the candidate
must have problem-solving skills and prioritization skills. The
candidate must be able to independently complete assignments as well
as function as part of a larger team web programmers, web content
staff, graphic designers, systems analysts, and business units.
