I've been informed that when making a connection to a server using an
SSLSocket, using a HandshakeCompletedListener is mandatory. I find
this surprising (if it was, surely the SSLSocket class would do its
own listening and not return from the connect() until everything was
OK?), and I haven't been able to find any mention of this in the
javax.net.ssl documentation.
Can anyone confirm or deny whether this is the case? And if it is the
case that it's mandatory, can they say where it says so, so that I can
find it?
