Storing A Position Of Image In A Variable For Java Script

B

Brian

So, basically, i don't know any java/java script...but i'm really
tryign to get this done for a friend, so its kind of a learn as i go
process

basically

i have 4 images that are centered on a webpage, so when you resize the
webpage, the images move accordingly

i also have a mouse over effect so when you hover over any one of the
four images, another image pops up on the left of the screen giving
you more options, and its a different picture for each of the 4
selections

now here's the problem

the picture that pops up after you hover over one of the 4 items is in
an absolute position

so even though the things on the right switch position as you resize
the browser, the pop up image does not

question....

is there a way i can get the position of those 4 images, hold them in
a variable, and always put the pop up window a certain distance from
the image, for example..... x = position of image --> x + _______ =
where to put pop up

this way it will always be the correct distance left of the 4 itmes no
matter how you size the browser

also another request, like i said i don't know any java script, so if
you post something, can you make it dummy proof :(

TIA!!!!!!!
