super newbie from Clipper :)

Hi guys,

I programmed in Clipper for many years. I also program in C, but I
didn't learn C++ along the way, most of my work being project
management. Most of the programs I expect to write are small database
thingies and a lot of parsing/string management utilities.

I am interested in learning Java... I've got Eclipse, and i'm all
ready to begin...

Any suggestions as for the route I should take from here?

I like to read forums/free stuff I can find off the web.

You will need at least one text book to explain the language basics.
Try to find one with examples that turn your crank.
Mostly you figure this out by looking at other people's code.
