Tkinter/Pmw: code snippet for newbies: linked OptionMenus

S

Stewart Midwinter

I needed to have linked OptionMenus for an app I'm developing: a selection in
the first OptionMenu causes the list in the second OptionMenu to be updated, and
similarly for the third. I got most of the solution myself, but the help of
Eric Brunel and Peter Otten was invaluable in solving the final problem. Here's
my contribution of a completed solution. Enjoy!

Note: this script requires installation of the Pmw widget-set in addition to
Tkinter.

Exercise for the reader: convert this code to work on linked picklists, or
linked radiobutton widgets.
