I am in VS2005 Configuration Manager and have selected from the Active
Solution Configuration "release". The deployment project and a supporting c#
dll project both switch to release, however the website remains at debug.
When I attempt to change the dropdown for the website debug is the only
option. How can I ensure that when I build that the entire solution including
the website is in release mode?

When you use the Publish option, that automatically switches to Release. Or,
you can try the new Web Application Projects add-in.

Peter,

I added the Deploy project and noticed in the build output box that is said
Release. I hate that MS came out with Web App proj so late. I feel like I am
to deep into development to do this switch. Version 3 of this product is
around the corner. There are some features in Web App projects from VS2003
that I missing with VS2005 website project so I'll switch then. Unless you
know of a non-invasive way to switch to the project mid development.

Thanks,

Andy

Many thanks Peter!
Andy,
Yep, get your drift loud and clear. Scott Guthrie's tutorial page on WAP has
instructions on how to convert, it's not difficult but could be
time-consuming if the project is large. Otherwise, probably would be good
practice, eh?
Best of luck
Peter
