Uable to find script library ... WebUIValidation.js

I am sorry to put this question up (because it has been asked and
addressed many times) but I have searched and I been unable to solve my
problem. I am running XP PRO Version 2002 SP2 on my laptop. I am
using the Web Matrix Server version 1.1.4322.573 and I am working on
validation which requires javascript. When I try to test my script I
get the following message: Unable to find script library
'/aspnet_client/system_web/1_1_4322/WebUIValidation.js'. Try placing
manually, or reinstall by running 'aspnet_regiis -c'. I believe the
placing manually refers to placing the file in C:/Inetpub/wwwroot. It
is already there. When I change the addressing the aspx file from
/aspnet_client/system_web/1_1_4322/WebUIValidation.js to
C:/Inetpub/wwwroot/aspnet_client/system_web/1_1_4322/WebUIValidation.js
I do not get the error message. This leads me to believe that I have
the correct file but the system is not looking for the file in
C:/Inetpub/wwwroot. Where must I place this file or what must I do to
have the system work properly? Thanks for the help ... Michael

Make sure you have an aspnet_client virtual directory pointing to
/aspnet_client where '/' is presumambly the root directory.
You need Internet Information Services program to do this.

Here is the solution for those like me that just don't know. You must
create the virtual directory as discussed above. When you are in the
Web Matrix Project program and you want to view you web site that you
have created you hit F5. A "Start Web Application" screen comes up.
One of the choices is "Use or create IIS Virtual Root". Select that
option and type in the name of your virtual directory. This worked for
me.
