Use ASP.Net Profile object model by non ASP.net application

Discussion in 'ASP .Net' started by =?Utf-8?B?Znc=?=, Oct 4, 2007.

  1. I have a Windows application need to access user profiles created by an
    asp.net web app. I ported <system.web><profile> and <connectionStrings> from
    web.config to app.confg. When the program executes following line,
    ProfileManager.ApplicationName = "/xxx";
    It generates error {"The type initializer for 'System.Uri' threw an
    exception."}.
    I wonder if anyone has tried to use object model of Profile outside of
    ASP.Net context.
    Thanks
