using ess lib with processing

I am using ess audio lib with Processing and want to convert the audio
buffer (float array) to a byte array (to use for Processing's network
lib) for each sample of audio. I'm trying to set up a network transmit
of the buffer.

my code is currently a mess, so if someone needs to look at it, give
me a bit to clean it up
