VHDL example using Opencores I2C component

Does anyone have a synthesizable VHDL example showing how to use the Opencores I2C component. I'm trying to use the component on an Actel FPGA to read from an I2C EEPROM and I'm unsure as to how to structure my state machine to communicate with the wishbone bus.
