vs.net cant open moved web project

Hi

Further to the IWA question, I'm also having a problem connecting to the
project from Visual Studio.

I've moved the entire contents of the folder to the Win2k machine, and
deleted the webinfo file and the slo (user) file. I've also edited the
solution to point to itself (ie 10.0.0.254).

However, when I try and open the solution file from VS, I get the error "The
default web access mode for this project is set to file share, but the
project folder at http://10.0.0.254/sitename cannot be opened with the path
\\SERVER\wwwroot$\sitename.

How can I fix this? I know that my site isnt in the wwwroot folder of IIS,
cos I changed it. Its actually in \dansserver\sitename. however, putting that
in the box provided doesnt work.

If I put 127.0.0.1 in my sln file, i can open the project in VS, but then if
I do DEBUG | Start it tries to open IE with 127.0.0.1, which of course is
useless, as it's not on local, its on the server!

Any ideas? bit lost with this one?

Cheers

Hi Tom

Thanks for the link. However I tried that and it doesn't working, probably
because there is no VS Developer group on the server?

How do I create the VS Developers group on the server without installing VS?
(only one license). Or am I misunderstanding and it means give the VS
Developers group on the client full access?

Check out the readme files for VS.NET, they explain how to install the
server components, which will also add the appropriate group to your server.
